Tama Tobias Macht spricht über Ihre künstlerische Arbeit

"A central theme in my work - film and photography - is the quest for personal identity as reflected in relation to family, society, country, culture and art. The quest began 2001, when I left my home in Jerusalem, Israel and immigrated to Cologne, Germany. It is a constantly evolving process whereby I recall the world I left and explore the world in which I live, through the perspective of "the other" "the alien". A significant facet of my quest is the concept "home", which enables me to observe the world "within" and "without”, by exploring the relation between persons and the space they inhabit.“

Geboren 1982 in Jerusalem, Israel. 2003- 2005 Studium der Fotografie an der Bezalel Akademie für Kunst und Design, Jerusalem. 2006- 2012 Studium an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln im Bereich Film. Seit 2012 als freischaffende Regisseurin, Cutterin und Fotografin.
Für ihre künstlerischen Arbeiten wurde sie mit mehreren Preisen ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem Förderpreis für junge Künstler/innen NRW in der Kategorie Film und Preis für junge Filmkunst, Nationalgalerie Berlin/ Deutschen Filmakademie (Shortlist). Zuletzt erhielt sie eine lobende Erwähnung beim Filmplus Festival für Filmschnitt und Montagekunst.
