Deutschlandstipendium
The Deutschlandstipendium supports students as well as first-year students whose backgrounds indicate outstanding achievements in their studies and careers.
Call for applications
On the basis of the Law on the Creation of a National Scholarship Programme (StipG) of the Federal Government of 29 March 2017, students of Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle can apply for a Deutschlandstipendium.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support talented students who are expected to achieve or have already achieved outstanding results in their studies or profession. According to § 3 StipG, however, criteria such as social commitment and the willingness to take on responsibility should also be taken into account.
Who can apply?
Anyone who is enrolled at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle or has already passed the entrance examination and will begin their studies in the following winter semester can apply. Double sponsorship is excluded.
What does the funding include?
- Grant period: from 1.10.2023 - 30.09.2024 (an application for continued funding is possible)
- The amount of the scholarship is 300 euros per month. The federal government pays 150 euros, a private sponsor also 150 euros.
- Private sponsorship is currently provided by the Hallesche Wohnungsgenossenschaft FREIHEIT eG and the Rotary Club Halle/Saale.
- At this point in time, the following is being offered: 1 scholarship
How do I apply?

Documents to be submitted:
- Application form
- Letter of motivation of no more than 1 A4 page in length
- Curriculum vitae
- for first-year students: Result of the entrance examination
- for students who are already enrolled: the academic achievements to date
- for Master's students as well as postgraduate students and master's students: the certificate of a first university degree as well as other certificates of achievement, if applicable.
- If already available: Proof of academic achievements to date, internship and work references; proof of special awards and prizes; proof of further involvement within or outside Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle.
- If the application documents are not written in German or English, a translation in German officially certified by a German authority must be enclosed.
- Presentation of special social, family or personal circumstances resulting, for example, from family origin or a migration background.

What happens after the deadline?
- The applications submitted will be assessed according to compliance with the formal criteria.
- Formally correct applications are submitted to the selection committee. In a selection meeting, the commission decides on 1 application that will receive the Deutschlandstipendium.
- The grant receiver will be informed in the course of the lecture-free period.
