Recording studio at the art campus – white house

The Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle has set up a sound studio for art and design students at the White House at Seebener Straße.
Various types of work with sound are possible here:
- Professional microphoning of sound sources, e.g. instrument, noise and speech recordings. A speaker's table is permanently installed.
- Working on a DigitalAudioWorkstation (DAW) with 5.1 sound system for editing, sound design up to mixing of experimental sound pieces, radio plays, film sound and music.
- The recording studio is equipped with high-quality microphones, an RME interface, Macke Control Sureface and 5.1 ADAM sound system.
- Installed software is Ableton Live, Nuendo, Reaper, Wavelab, RX Izotope.
In order to be able to work in the recording studio, an introduction is a prerequisite. Introductory appointments will be given individually on request.
The course is intended to enable students to independently implement their own projects in the recording studio and is also a necessary prerequisite for its use.
You can bring your own materials/sounds to the course.
The introduction includes the microphoning of sound sources, e.g. instrument, noise and speech, working on a 5.1 sound system with a digital audio workstation (DAW) for editing, as well as the use of effects.
